Ordering on behalf of a business in another EU country? Enter your VAT number during checkout. If your order meets the applicable conditions, the VAT will be adjusted in the order summary.
When does the 0% rate apply?
A business delivery from the Netherlands to another EU country may qualify for the 0% rate. The requirements include:
- your business has a valid VAT identification number from another EU country;
- the order is shipped to another EU country;
- the business and address details on the order are correct.
A valid VAT number does not automatically mean that you can order without Dutch VAT. The destination and the other conditions of the delivery also matter.
How it works at checkout
- Enter your VAT number, including its country code. For example, BE or DE followed by the number.
- Wait for the check. If the check returns business or address details, these may be filled in automatically.
- Review your details. Complete any missing information and check both the business address and the delivery address.
- Check the updated total. Checkout recalculates VAT. Review the order summary before paying.
Your VAT number cannot be confirmed
Check the country code and the complete number. The validation service may also be temporarily unavailable. If the message remains or the calculated amount looks wrong, contact us before paying. Include your VAT number and the message shown.
Ordering as a private customer or having the order delivered in the Netherlands? A VAT number alone does not entitle you to the 0% rate.
